Purchased this in light grey in November 2021, and by Feb-March it had started to pill. I will say, now that Ikea has discontinued this model, covers are increasingly difficult to find, and this cover did fit perfectly. It looked fine pre-pilling, though I would not say that its appearance made any secret of the fact that it is made of polyester. It feels fine; not soft, but not so scratchy so as to be bothersome or uncomfortable.Seller should change the description of this cover as it’s not navy blue. It is however exactly as pictured which is more of a denim color. In any case, it was a very good buy and much cheaper than IKEA who doesn’t currently offer blue tones. The fabric (Polyester) is a lighter weight than my original cotton/poly version. Everything fit in one washer with room to spare and line dried super fast. My original is thick, needs to be separated into two washers and takes a day to dry. I washed it right out of the box based on a previous review that it was scratchy. It’s actually quite soft and I’ve even napped on it. The covers fit my Ektorp sofa with chaise like a glove and are well made down to the piping & pleats. I’m pleased with this purchase. It coordinates beautifully with my area rug and gives my old couch new life. Thanks!As another reviewer noted, out of the box this cover is a little rougher than IKEA's. I wouldn't agree that it's scratchy, but certainly rougher. Haven't washed it yet, so I don't know how much it will soften. However, the big plus is that is solved a problem I had with IKEA's original. IKEA uses two separate pieces for the chaise pillow and the hassock/foot rest. The result is that the chaise pillow is constantly slipping forward when anyone sits on it, and has to be pushed back into place. This one has a one piece cover for the chaise pillow and skirt for the hassock, which seems to eliminate the slippage. And it's cheaper than IKEA's.This product looks great and fits well except for the ottoman part under the chaise cushion. It’s only noticeable if you are the person putting the cover on. Also, the fabric is very scratchy/rough. This could be because it is brand new.UPDATE: it’s been washed and stills fits great. Still a little scratchy but definitely softer then before.This cover is great. It fits well, was easy to put on, and is a very nice color. As another reviewer stated, it is more denim-colored rather than a true navy. Gave us a much-needed update for Fall.The product snags and pills quickly! Washes nicely but doesn’t get rid of the pills. Notworth it!I always make fun of people who do this. Until it happened to me. This cover is not dark gray. It’s lighter than my medium gray curtains from IKEA. It’s light gray. Medium at best. Not the rich charcoal color like advertised. Oh well. Husband agreed to a whole new couch when he saw that the color wouldn’t work so I guess I still win.It is a stiff material, smells and looks cheap.
